Football legend Iker Casillas, quite possibly of the best goalkeeper throughout the entire existence of the game, says his Twitter account had been hacked when it distributed a post declaring he was gay.

"Cuenta hackeada. Por suerte task en orden. Disculpas a tasks mis supporters. Y por supuesto, mas disculpas a la comunidad LGTB," the resigned Spaniard composed on Twitter from the beginning Monday morning, Australian time.

Interpretation: "Hacked account. Fortunately everything all together. Expressions of remorse to every one of my devotees. Furthermore, obviously, more conciliatory sentiments to the LGBT people group."

A couple of hours sooner, in a post that was subsequently erased, Casillas' record tweeted: "Espero que me respeten: soy gay." In English: "I really want to believe that you regard me: I'm gay."

The post quickly piled up a huge number of preferences and retweets before it vanished over an hour after the fact.

Carles Puyol, another incredible Spanish footballer who was a colleague of Casillas at the public level (and opponent at homegrown level) for a long time, was among those responding.
